The Healing Power of Marmapuncture ~ For Modern Living
Ayurvedic Acupuncture
Are you living with stress, fatigue, or recurring health issues that never seem to fully go away? Many people try different therapies but find only short-term relief.
Marmapuncture offers something deeper. Known as Ayurvedic Acupuncture, it works not only on organ pathways (like traditional acupuncture), but also on your dosha balance (vata, pitta, kapha) and chakra centres, the deepest energy points of the body.
By gently stimulating marma points, Marmapuncture can release blockages at multiple levels. This makes it a powerful therapy for both chronic and acute conditions, helping your system restore flow, balance, and vitality where other methods may have fallen short.
Why Choose Marmapuncture?
In today’s world, our nervous systems are under constant pressure. Over time, stress and imbalance can show up as:
Low immunity and fatigue
Digestive discomfort, IBS, and constipation
Headaches, migraines, and disturbed sleep
Joint and muscle pain, including back pain and sciatica
Anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional strain
Marmapuncture addresses not just the symptoms but the root cause, helping you release tension, restore vitality, and feel more at home in your body. Many clients say they leave a session feeling lighter, calmer, and clearer than they have in years.
"I cannot tell you how much better I feel. After months of struggling with post-viral fatigue and brain fog, marmapuncture helped me feel energised and clear again. I left my first treatment feeling lighter, and the effect stayed with me for days. People even noticed how much more relaxed and vibrant I looked. It’s been a real turning point for me."

What to Expect in a Session
Your first session begins with a focused health overview. Together we’ll explore your constitution (prakruti) and any current imbalance (vikruti).
Then, using fine, sterile needles, I gently stimulate specific marma points chosen for your needs. The process is deeply calming, yet powerfully therapeutic.
Where appropriate, I may also use short massage techniques on certain marma points to further release tension and enhance the flow of prana. This is included in your session when it will best support your healing.
Some clients feel immediate relief, while others notice subtle changes building over several sessions, better sleep, reduced pain, calmer moods, or more energy.
To support your healing between sessions, I may also recommend simple Ayurvedic diet or lifestyle practices.

A Living Tradition
The practice of Marmapuncture originated in Sri Lanka before travelling the Silk Route into India and China. Early Ayurvedic texts such as the Atharva Veda describe marma points as essential to both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Over centuries, healers mapped 107 points across the body, each with profound influence on health. Today, this knowledge lives on through respected Ayurvedic doctors such as Dr. Shanta Godagama and his duaghter Dr Simi Godagama (my teacher), who have carried Marmapuncture into the modern era.
At Heal Oasis, I am proud to continue this lineage, offering you a safe, supportive space to experience the gentle yet powerful healing of Marmapuncture.

A Brief History of Marmapuncture
Marmapuncture, also known as Marma Chikitsa, is a time-honoured therapy rooted in Ayurvedic medicine.
Its origins can be traced to Sri Lanka, from where it traveled along the Silk Route, influencing healing practices throughout India, China, and beyond. The earliest references to marma points appear in ancient texts like the Atharva Veda, which present these vital points as pivotal to both physical and psychological wellbeing.
During the Samhita period (5th century BCE to 8th century CE), Ayurvedic scholars mapped the body’s marma points in detail, noting how they could be treated through needling, massage, heat, or pressure to promote healing. The knowledge was used not only in daily therapeutics through oil massages (abhyanga) and restorative treatments, but also in surgery to save lives. Marma points even held a prominent place in martial arts contexts, with warriors learning how to disable or fatally wound opponents by targeting these critical areas.
As India’s holistic sciences such as yoga, meditation, and herbal medicine flourished, marmapuncture evolved alongside them, honing its focus on prana (life force) and the subtle body channels (nadis). This rigorous, yet deeply intuitive approach to healthcare continues to resonate in the modern era.
Pioneering figures like Dr. Shanta Godagama have further advanced our understanding, bridging ancient wisdom with contemporary wellness methods. Today, marmapuncture remains a testament to Ayurveda’s profound insight into the delicate interplay of mind, body, and spirit, offering a gentle, yet powerful method for restoring balance and vitality.
At Heal Oasis, I am proud to carry forward this lineage, using marmapuncture to help you rediscover health, relieve stress, and support your body’s innate power to heal.
